Dr. Delgado has some exciting news to share with you from Ultherapy! The FDA has recently cleared Ultherapy for treatment of the décolleté, the only non-invasive procedure specifically designed to improve wrinkles of the chest.
One of the most telling signs of aging for a woman is her chest. It usually begins to be a problem once a woman passes 40 years of age, with fine lines and wrinkles.
Sun damage is one of the worst offenders in the aging of skin. Ultra-violet sunlight thins the skin and the underlying collagen fibers lose their elasticity resulting in wrinkles and lines of the chest. The skin of the chest is thinner than the face and more vulnerable to sun damage.
One of the biggest causes besides age and sun damage is the way a woman sleeps. Many women sleep curled up on their side, because of the weight of the breasts, they fall together causing “sleep wrinkles.” In the past, there have been some strange devices designed to help prevent chest wrinkles; special pads, or sports type bras that look like they are worn backwards to help separate the breasts.
Push-up bras worn for many hours may also contribute to creases in the chest.
The Ultherapy ultrasound treatment for the décolleté only takes about 30 minutes. The treatment stimulates the natural formation of collagen gradually smoothing chest wrinkles usually within 3 months. Like other Ultherapy treatments for the face and neck, results can be obtained with one treatment and no downtime!
Miguel Delgado, M.D. wants to remind you though, take care of your skin on your neck and chest like you do for your face, don’t forget to use sunscreen.
